About the Author

Nelson Mandela was a former President of South Africa, the first to be elected in fully representative democratic elections. He was born in Transkei, South Africa, in 1918. Before his presidency, Mandela was an anti-apartheid activist and leader of the African National Congress. In 1964, he was convicted of crimes including sabotage committed in the struggle against apartheid. He was imprisoned for 27 years at Robben Island prison and Pollsmoor prison. During his incarceration, his reputation as a potent symbol of resistance to apartheid grew steadily. Released from prison in 1990, Mandela received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 and was inaugurated as President of South Africa in 1994. He is the author of the internationally bestselling autobiography Long Walk to Freedom and Conversations with Myself. Mandela died in December 2013.

Conversations with Myself by Nelson Mandela is far from a conventional biography. Actually one could make the case its not a biography at all, but rather a collection of writings and interviews that give one an admittedly pretty good view of Nelson Mandela’s mindset both as a fighter for a multi-ethnic South Africa, political prisoner, and towards the end of the book the respected president of South Africa.Fair warning, while there exists a definite attempt to group everything together by certain themes, the rather quick speed at which the collection moves from one document to the next may leave readers who look for a more linear flow to books feeling quite frustrated, as I was for the first third or so of book because I couldn’t tie the broader picture together. But I kept at it, very slowly but eventually my perseverance paid off and I ended up with a rather intimate portrait of a complex man. I just worry some readers won’t have the needed patience.

This was a fantastic read, but the composition of it is what truly made it enjoyable. These are actual translated letters that he wrote over the course of his life and address some of the most important and interesting topics of the man himself and the continent he was looking to unite. Furthermore, the letters are all arranged in a time logical sense that takes you through the motions of Mandela and his trials and tribulations as best as his literary talents could. This should be required reading for anyone interested in Afro-Studies, Mandela, history, war, triumph and just about anyone out there who enjoys a good, easy non-fiction piece. One of my favorite reads of the year thus far!

Wonderful insight into the mind of a beautiful human being that tapped into every emotion in both the dark and lighter spectrum of humanity and lived to tell about it.

This is a truly important book. Mandela is as one would expect, honest and thoroughly admirable in every way. This is deeply significant recent history and a man with real vision and decency, which lord knows we could use a great deal more of today. The only reason I haven't marked this 5 star is because the writing is not terrific. However, what he has to say, his descriptions and explanations of what he and South Africa went through are so vital and true and nuanced, that this is a must read book.

This book isnt what I thought it was going to be. I really wanted an inside look at Mandela's heart and mind . The book is a random collection of his musinfs in journal and conversations, but so haphazard to me, that I don't feel inspured to read it at all.

Purchased this book for a dear friend. So glad to see that President Obama wrote the introduction. She loves the book. On her recommendation, I am purchasing a copy for myself, being that I am a Nelson Mandela fan.

This book is beautiful. It was the picture that caught my initial attention over all the other books by or about Mandela. The detail of the close-up picture of a smiling Mandela, with a face full of beauty and wisdom is breathtaking. Of course I'm reading it, but it is definitely of table-top quality. And it is a large book, bigger than I thought. The content, his conversations and words of wisdom so inspiring. I'm glad I bought this book. I've actually bought another one as a gift for a friend. She absolutely loves it!

If you want to listen to someone talk to themself, Nelson Mandela is one to hear.

Having the daughter of the ruler of the galaxy living in your home is a recipe for disaster, mostly because said father informed all the marriage candidates of said fact and told them to win her hand they need to defeat the protagonist. Of course, said princess is also hopelessly naive and integrating her into everyday life is not easy either.Relatively short, but funny and at times unashemedly over the top, exactly as one would expect for the genre, but with enough twists on its own to keep it new and entertaining. Not entirely sure why, but I liked it more than part 1. Maybe the slices of everyday life (especially surrounding Gabrielle) and slightly less silliness are what made it better for me?All in all, a good entertaining read and looking forward to part 3.

A good story, worthy successor to the first installation.I'm not too fond of the manner in which Mr. Varnell includes characters with no sense of boundaries, but the involvement in this story is much more believable (not to mention less in depth) than his American Kitsune series. I hope he continues this trend.The growth of the characters are frankly quite excellent. It's not Tolkein by any means, but there are certain points of genius here. I like how the 'curse' (my word not his) that has plagued the protagonist's inventions seems to be wearing off, which I take to mean that having a partner is bringing back the inspiration/mojo/magic. Or maybe it's even more subtle, which is the point I really like; the answer isn't always obvious.The science angle is good too. Having a superheated sand gun is frankly a new one on me.Pacing overall is better in this second installment. There's much less Fourth Wall breakage (which is REALLY appreciated, if you read this Mr. Varnell), and the relationship is smoothly handled. Expanding the potential 'harem' looks to be improved in this tale; still a bit iffy on the step sister (despite the lack of blood ties), but the other characters appear to be working just fine.Worth a buy.

I was just looking for fun scifi reads, and darn if you didn't make my day when I realized you had come out with this! I really appreciate how much raw fun it is to read your work. Similar to the first book, this feels like a sideways clone of the To Love Ru franchise. And yet again, Brandon Varnell proves he can make it work.This book doesn't really introduce any new characters, and instead focuses on expanding the backstories and personalities of the characters already in the series, a welcome change in this genre.I know this is a short review, but there's very little I can say without spoiling the story or giving away certain elements.

Learning a new surprise in life trying to understand a link in his life and his life is a new understanding of his self and his friend Gabrielle he finds out she is a princess and it's starting to get more a learning curve

The story is defiantly diverging from its base material in awesome way. Great characters, interesting storyline, and awesome powers. Can't wait for more of the series to come.

I have been following Brandon for years now starting from back when he was writing Naruto Fanfiction. When he started writing his own books I was stoked and could not wait to read them since I loved the way he wrote his Fanfictions. I immensely enjoyed reading A Most Unlikely Hero Book One and Book Two and would highly recommend those who enjoy an anime style of fiction. Cheers!

I originally got this textbook for a coding and billing course that I took several years ago. The basic information about how to run a medical outpatient office, and the details of federal guidelines about privacy, etc. was very good. Unfortunately, the information was way out of date, even though the date of the textbook was current at the time, and didn't even mention the upcoming electronic health records requirement scheduled for 2013. This is critical information and was known at the time of the book. It did give good links that, with effort, one could find that information.

This text was just right for the course, and being able to rent it was a bargain - They even sent me a notice when it was coming due with a return label to ship it. I recommend this for anyone going back to school to help with their careers.

I am just a beginner in the medical billing and coding world, reading this book makes me feels comfortable. I feel like the author is in front of me discussing each chapter. I even bought her medical insurance dictionary, Insurance Handbook, and Virtual Medical Office. The contents of the book is easy to understand, it basically helps you to absorb the real world of health insurance industry.Worth to keep in my little library at home and a very good reference all the time... :-)

It is quite challenging and helpful for learning the basics of medical billing and coding. There are a ton of abbreviations to learn and a lot of dates to remember. This book was very helpful in my studies.

A great read with some unusual twist and turns in the relationships amongst shifters, vampires and witches. Would recommend to any who like the genre

I will start by saying I am a huge fan of Celeste. I adore her writing style, normally the characters and stories flow with little effort. However with this series it seemed the relationships were forced which in turn didn’t make things flow as well as it could have. I understand the concept of alpha males but there’s alpha and there’s just being an a$$. This may sound like I didn’t like it and that’s not so, I would recommend this I just prefer some of her other series over this one. I voluntarily reviewed this book for an honest review.

First off I want to say that I am a fan of Celeste’s writing style; her Shifters and Vampires are endearing. Storyline unfolds beautifully and keeps the reader interested. Cover Art is tasteful and well done. This is well worth the $.99 price tag. "I voluntarily reviewed this book for an honest review"

The series is comprised of technically standalone stories. Though there are elements that are woven throughout the collection. Shifters, wolves and witches reside in Shady Falls where drama and rivalry exist. A Set of quick paced entertaining books.New BloodThe book delves right in to the action right away. There is action, intrigue, and heat. Overall the story held my interest. However some questionable behaviour on Calum's part, and Ali's response detracted from the story. That's all I can say without revealing any plot details.I read an advance copy of this set.

I really liked this series. The stories flowed well and had just enough magic to be magical but, not enough to take away from the stories. The stories have conflict mixed in with the shifters finding their mate. The forever kind of love. And, there are some pretty steamy scenes. The stories have shifters, vampires and witches. The shifters and vampires don't get along and the witches are supposed to be neutral and stay out of the others business. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest voluntary review.

I have recently started reading books by this author Celeste Raye and let me say "River Clan Shifters" was a lovely read. I luv that it was a box set too. When done with one book, on to the next. 👍It kept me reading till the end. Highly recommend that you grab it up.
