Rhino, Lion, Elephant, Tiger cub, Panda, Parrot, Penguin, Polar Bear, Koala, Kangaroo, Crocodile, and Lizard. All pictures have textures such as fur, leather (for the Rhino) ribbed paper (for the Croc) or sparkles. There is only one animal per page so kids can learn each animal independently. Thick pages make them easy for little hands to turn. Pages wipe easily and take much abuse well. I have purchased many from this series and my daughter loves them all.

I was only partly pleased with this product. Whether or not its for you depends on what you and your child find interesting.Pros: -excellent quality, durable and easy on little hands.-fun sounds. "Boing boing" for kangaroo, " "pitter patter" for lizard, "grr grr" for tiger cub, etc.-colorful pictures, with colored glittery patches on some of the pages.-Lots of pages, 13 animals including front cover tiger.Cons: -Small texture patches-Not a lot of variety, all just similar fur except the rhino(leather) and alligator(bumpy gator-like plastic).-the four pages that had the glitter patches(elephant, parrot, koala, and lizard), while bright and colorful, had no other textures, and the glitter paper is hard to even feel.I plan on keeping this book for my 8 mo to practice turning pages on as it is durable and colorful.

It's a touch and feel book, however, the areas to touch and feel are very small. Some pages only have foil areas to feel that have nothing to do with the animal or feel nothing like the animal pictured.

This is a cute little book! I think two of the pages just had a little "grass" that was kinda shiny and smooth, but the animal didn't have any "fuzz". I was a little disappointed in the size of the fuzzy parts on each page- the book indicated it is for baby, but each page only had a 1/4 inch by 1/2 inch little patch to "feel". I had to put my baby's hand on the little fuzzy part, and she is 11 months old, and she wasn't really "feelin it" pun intended! She didn't seem to really catch on to the different textures, and I think that she would have had they been bigger. Overall it's a cute little book and the quality of the book itself is great! It had more pages than I was expecting, and it's pretty adorable!

Our baby loved this book so much that one day she ate some of it. I'm not even joking. She ate part of the cover and then licked all the animal fuzz inside. She has been a book lover since she was about six months old and never once tried to eat them. When she was a year, I figured she was old enough to have a book in her crib during nap time, but boy was I wrong. Thankfully, she didn't ingest much and is totally fine. Big plus for this book is that it is high quality and she wasn't able to rip any of the touch and feel pieces out and choke. Every page is full of colors, sparkles, fur, pleather, bumps, etc. I've read this book to her about a hundred times now and even I'm not tired of it. I bought many more books in this series and each one is interesting, colorful, and has many cool things for baby to touch and feel. Highly recommend!

Great book, my son loves it. His therapist asked me to buy a touch and feel book and explained the benefits it would provide for him through sensory input. We like that some pages are bumpy like the last page the animal has scaled skin, there's a variety of textures to feel, not just furs. The words are kept to a minimal per page and therefore great for helping kids start to talk, it's a good idea to start with books with small words when there on the verge of talking. Also if a book has too many word you can limit what you read and say just few words.

The books dimensions are about a 5"×5". The pictures almost fill the page but I am really disappointed in the size of the "touch and feel" space cut out. They all are soo SMALL. I mean some are a little bigger than a quarter size. I would recommend trying to find one where the area is much larger so your kids can actually "touch and feel". Not all images have an area to feel, some have a small glittery area. The book and pages are good material. Seems durable.

All the books from this style touch and feel are great.My 17 mth old has love them for a few months now.I have him excited about books.Im glad so early on how he gets excited and laughs and screams when I ask do you want to read a book?This book is approx and inch thick including all the pages and cover.

Larry J. Siegel was born in the Bronx in 1947. While living on Jerome Avenue and attending City College of New York (CCNY) in the 1960s, he was swept up in the social and political currents of the time. He applied his interest in social forces and human behavior to the study of crime and justice. Now a Professor Emeritus, he continues to teach courses on criminology and criminal justice in UML'S online master's degree program. Dr. Siegel has written extensively in the area of crime and justice, including books on juvenile law, delinquency, criminology, corrections, criminal justice, and criminal procedure. He is a court certified expert on police conduct and has testified in numerous legal cases.

I was excited to save money on my textbooks since our school bookstore charges outrageous amounts, but when I received the book I noticed that the back was all wrinkled up. About half way through the book to the back cover, there is a ton of water damage. The pages and cover are wrinkled up and have water marks (at least I'm hoping it was water)

The book is good. My professor for this class was the biggest *sshole ever. Miserable to the core.

Got it for 20 dollars, just looked it went up in price! Well this book was seriously in perfect condition looks brand new, if not new. I seriously saved a pretty dime!!! Would buy again if i needed too!

This was purchased for a class. It is assembled in a logical order and uses all kinds of case studies to illustrate the theme of each chapter. Very helpful read.

First of all, I'm a big fan of JJ Luna's books. I have almost all of them. The bottom line, cash is king. After reading Luna's book, I know now why my Grandma liked Bank of Mattress vs. Bank of anytown USA.The idea of putting enough money for a tankful of gas and a meal in your car is a good idea. You spend less when you're not swiping a card and actually having to pay out in cash. Paying cash means not having to pay a credit card bill, going online, selecting bill pay, etc. When you finish a meal, there is no interest on the salad when you pay cash.There are those who say well if you have nothing to hide, why worry? I'll tell you why. The state is becoming far more greedy and hungry for money (along with taxation and theft) and if you're an easy target, you'll be next.As long as you don't dress ostentatious traveling, you won't attract money for thieves. I also like the idea of a non-descript Honda or Toyota when traveling. You attract attention when you're driving a 60K SUV and sporting designer clothes. Especially a woman traveling alone.If you value privacy, anonymity and personal safety, Luna's books are the way to go. Especially if you're a single female.

I read this book on the recommendation of my brother after having my car broken into and stuff stolen multiple times. It's short but jam-packed with information about how to hide personal belongings like cash and jewelry and bank statements in your home, car, or on your person. There are also chapters on how to "hide" money in secret bank accounts in other states or in Canada. The book is broken into chapters and there are subheadings that make it really easy to follow -- it's like an asset-hider's almanac. He also interweaves Q&A from clients or readers of his blog (jjluna.com), which for me brought up some really interesting stuff I'd never considered -- like the fact that you can travel internationally with airline tickets that can be turned around and redeemed for cash (a way of surreptitiously traveling with large amounts of cash). Some of the information was not relevant to me, as I'm unlikely to have private investigators trying to dig up my vast holdings in hidden bank accounts (ha!), but I actually found it interesting to learn this stuff all the same. In an age when the Google corporation probably knows more about me than my own mother, I guess we need privacy experts like Luna to teach us to get our privacy back. Definitely a recommended read if you have ever wanted to squirrel away funds for a rainy day -- but don't keep your copy out on the coffee table lest you give thieves and law enforcement ideas for where to look for your stash. :)

This is a great book. It is straight forward and right to point and very well written.

ANY book by Jack Luna is worth reading. Some of this advice applies to me, some of it doesn't. For example, I can't see myself opening a secret bank account in Canada; I don't get around much. But some of the advice is good; pay with cash wherever possible, keep some cash hidden for emergencies, how to hide stuff and discourage burglars, etc. It was definately worth the 4 bucks and change I spent on it.

It's very insightful and easy to understand. I highly recommend.

Hmmmm... so you have your General Class license and your heating up the ionosphere with all your SSB traffic (well maybe just 80 and 160 meters these days), but you know how it goes: all the cool kids have Amateur Extra licenses, and, well, you looked into it, but that exam is 50(!) questions, and the question pool is over 700(!) questions, and the material is sooo obscure, and the questions sooo hard, and you never have time to study, and you didn't see your kids for a month when you studied for the General license...OK there's some truth to all that, but the Amateur Extra is not that bad: you just have to put in the extra time (no pun intended) to prepare, probably double what you spent on the General. And that's where this book comes in: it provides a trimmed-down narrative that explains just enough of the theory (with exam answers in bold lettering) so you can connect the dots.I used Dan's Non Nonsense study guide for my General license, so naturally I chose his study guide for the Extra license. I criticized his General guide for being "light on theory," but for some reason, this Extra license study guide was better: it worked well for me.I recommend casually reading thru all 10 topics, then going back and reading them more slowly to understand them. Dan's starts out with some heavy duty, electrical principles (E5), and slides right into scary circuit components (E6). Oh man, was I lost at first, but on my second read-through, I started remembering some of the theory and the answers started to look familiar. As soon as you're comfortable, take a practice tests and study the questions you got wrong. Then go back to Dan's book and study that topic further.If you're not an electrical or electronics engineer, you're not going to digest all this material in a week, or cram the night before. I admit I sort of panicked two weeks before the exam and purchased the ARRL Extra Q&A book (which is more than just the questions and answers), but I found myself switching back to Dan's book for the "why" or a deeper explanation of the "what."As always, pick your VE location and date first, then work backwards to see how long you need to study. This hard deadline will help motivate you and keep you on track. I estimate I spent 50 hours over seven weeks (about an hour a day) to prepare, including nine practice tests thru the ARRL website. There is a smattering of Technician and General material repeated in the Extra material, but most of it will be new and quite obscure. Voltage leading current or current leading voltage? Elliptically polarized waves? What the heck are resistance circles and reactance arcs? Obscure indeed. But that's why you need Dan's study guide.

If you're going to memorize the questions, then you should at least get the answers framed with a little context, and that's what this series of books does. The physics parts are backed up by just enough extra context to make wikipedia searching the rest make sense. Great resource for beginners and seasoned pros going for their upgrade.

This book gives you the bare-bones information for passing the FCC Amateur Extra exam. It was exactly what I was looking for, since I can easily find more details from other sources. This book makes it easy to cover the material quickly.

This is a great study tool for learning the answers to the test. I use it with a sample test App to practice the questions. It doesn't teach the theory behind the answers, however. If you want to learn the subject matter you should use this in conjunction with the ARRL book.

I aced the Tech and General tests. Thought I would try for the Extra by purchasing this book. This author assumes your an expert at the General level. If your not stay away from this book. Too confusing for the new Generals to understand.

Dan's Technician and General books are top notch. They are a must if you want to get your ticket or upgrade.The Extra book is the same. He boils down a very complex set of questions to the base of the pool.

It is nice to see only see the correct answer so you don't get confused when you are studying for the test. Like the Ham Whisperer.

Good study guide. Only complaint is that the cover is not heavy stock and it curls badly. Maybe I got a bad batch. That aside the guide is good although I prefer the Craig Buck study guide.

Who Is Wayne Gretzky?      Fifty in fifty. That means scoring fifty goals in fifty hockey games.   Maurice “The Rocket” Richard, of the Montreal Canadiens, was the first National Hockey League player to do it, in the 1944–1945 season.   Ten years passed. Twenty. Thirty. It seemed no other hockey player could pull off the feat. Finally New York Islander Mike Bossy tied the record thirty-six years later.    How much time would pass before someone else scored fifty goals in fifty games?   One season later, Wayne Gretzky, just twenty years old, skated onto the ice. The place: Northlands Coliseum in Edmonton, Canada. The date: December 30, 1981.   Wayne was the center for the Edmonton Oilers. He was about to face off against the Philadelphia Flyers.   It had been an amazing season for Wayne. By the thirteenth game, he had thirteen goals. After thirty-five games, he had thirty-eight goals. And after thirty-eight games? He had a whopping forty-five.   Now he was ready for game thirty-nine.   No one—ever—had scored fifty goals in less than fifty games. Just five more goals and Wayne would do it.   On this gusty winter day, Wayne felt lucky. Somehow he knew he’d score—and score big.   In the first period he scored two goals, one right after the other. By the end of the second period, he scored again for a hat trick: three goals altogether. Five minutes into the third period, Wayne slid the puck around a rushing defender. He shot, lifting the puck high in the air. He scored! His fourth goal of the game!   Now Wayne had forty-nine goals. Could he make it fifty?   With ten minutes left, Wayne shot and shot again. Each one was stopped by the Flyers’ goalie. Only seconds remained. The game was close: Oilers, 6; Flyers, 5.   Philadelphia pulled its goalie off the ice. An offensive player skated out, to try to tie the game. It was a risk. Philadelphia left their net wide open. Wayne took off down the ice.   Grant Fuhr, the Oilers’ goalie, pushed the puck to right wing Glenn Anderson.   “Pass it to me!” Wayne shouted from the Flyers’ zone. Three seconds were left on the clock. Wayne got the puck. A defender charged. Two seconds left. Wayne zipped around the Flyer. He shot.   Goal!   Wayne had done it. Fifty goals in only thirty-nine games.   Teammates mobbed Wayne. The hometown crowd went crazy. Wayne Gretzky didn’t just break the record. He destroyed it! By game fifty, he had sixty-one goals. And by the end of the season, Wayne scored ninety-two goals in eighty games for another record.   Wayne would go on to break or tie more than sixty records. Most goals in a season and most goals in a career. Most assists in a season and most assists in a career. Most career points. (In hockey, players earn a point for each goal or assist.) If you only counted Wayne’s assists, he’d still have the most points of any player. Ever.   Wayne retired in 1999. He hasn’t played for years. Yet many of his records still stand—including fifty goals in thirty-nine games. He probably holds the record for holding the most records of any professional athlete.   Wayne wasn’t the biggest or fastest or strongest. But the way he played—his style and smarts—would change the game. Wayne Douglas Gretzky was a different kind of hockey player, almost from the time he could walk.     Chapter 1: Growing Up Gretzky     In Canada, hockey is THE sport. When Canadian children dream of being a pro athlete, most don’t think of baseball or football. They dream of hockey, and playing for glory in the National Hockey League. It’s said Canadian children grow up on skates. Wayne Gretzky did. He started skating when he learned to walk.   Wayne was born on January 26, 1961, in Brantford, a small city in the province of Ontario, Canada. In Brantford, it snows for almost half the year. There’s lots of time to skate outdoors.   When Wayne was two, his dad bought him his first pair of skates. Walter Gretzky strapped them on for little Wayne. Together, they stepped onto the frozen Nith River.   Walter helped Wayne slide along the ice. According to Walter, “He’d never ever been on skates before. I put him on the ice. He literally skated. Just skated.” And that’s where it all began—on the river running right past the Gretzky family farm.   Walter Gretzky had grown up on the farm, outside town. He too grew up playing hockey. He met Wayne’s mom, Phyllis, when he was a teenager. Phyllis went to the games he played. And Walter watched Phyllis play softball. Sports were always a part of their lives.   The two married in 1960, and moved to a small house in Brantford.   The city is known as the birthplace of the telephone. It’s where Alexander Graham Bell worked on his landmark invention. The first telephone factory was built there, too. Phones were big business. And many people worked for Bell Canada. Walter was a lineman for the company.   In 1961, Walter was working above a manhole. A phone cable had caught, and Walter was trying to loosen it. He pulled. Suddenly, a heavy frame flew out of the manhole. It hit Walter on the head, cracking his helmet. The next thing he knew, he was lying facedown on the street. Everything was spinning. He had a fractured skull.   The accident left Walter deaf in one ear. He had constant headaches. But Walter Gretzky didn’t let that stop him. How could he? He and Phyllis had a growing family.   After Wayne, Walter and Phyllis had four more children: Kim, Keith, Brent, and Glen. On weekends, they’d all troop out to the family farm to visit their grandparents.   Every Sunday after church, Grandma Gretzky made a huge dinner. She was born in Poland. So she served traditional Polish food like pierogi, a kind of dumpling. And every Saturday night, from the time Wayne was little, the family gathered around the TV. They watched a show called Hockey Night in Canada.   While the TV was on, Wayne and Grandma had their own face-off. Grandma, the goalie, sat in a chair. Toddler Wayne “skated” across the floor, shoeless. Using a tiny hockey stick, he’d shoot a rubber ball or rolled-up sock between Grandma’s legs.   Wayne was hooked on hockey.   In town, Walter took Wayne to park rinks. Wayne never wanted to leave. Poor Walter waited for hours in the freezing cold. When Wayne was four, Walter had an idea. He’d turn their backyard into a skating rink.   First he cut the grass very short. Then he turned on the sprinkler. He let it run all night long. In the morning, the ground was covered in a layer of ice. It was a rink! Now Walter could sit in his warm kitchen and watch Wayne out the window. The family called it “Wally Coliseum.”   Wayne wanted to learn everything about playing hockey. So Walter set up empty detergent bottles. He taught Wayne to weave around them. He ran through drills. “Go where the puck is going,” he told Wayne again and again. “Not where it’s been.” Sometimes Wayne used a tennis ball instead of a puck. It taught him control.   But Wayne wanted to play in real games. He begged his father to find him a team.   Wayne was too young, his parents thought. He was only five. Back then, players had to be at least ten. But Wayne kept begging. So his parents tried to sign him up for the Brantford Atom league team. They were turned away.   Wayne didn’t give up. He kept practicing. And he kept after his parents.   The next year Wayne turned six. This time, he was allowed to try out. Wayne was small—even for his age. But all those drills paid off. His skills made him stand out. And he made the team!

9 year old son loves hockey and hates to read. He read this book in an evening and that is saying a lot. It's a struggle to get him to read anything

Great book for kids (ages 6-10) to learn the basics about Gretsky. Good choice for book reports.

Easy read for any elementary school student. My son finished this book in one night for a school project.

Great read. Written in a simple way, yet covers lots of information. Perfect summary of the Great One.

My son is in second garage and needed to do a biography book report. He plays ice hockey so it was very cool to find a book for his age about some one he looks up to.

Best Mommy/ Son time night reading in a long time. we would read a chapter a night and he would LOVE going to bed to hear more.Followed up with a video documentary on WG and he is in AWE. Loves the "Lady Bing" award!

This is a great read for the young hockey fan. My 11 year old son read the entire book in an afternoon and loved all the interesting facts and background information about Gretzky:)
