To start with I am not all that much of a fan of hard core cuckold stories of which Boswell is a master but I can't deny what he writes is hot!Here we have a guy with a cute innocent wife who secumbs to the office bully and her beta husband struggles with how to deal with the very confused emotions he deals with!The storyline is predictable if you have read any of Ben's works but he always manages to twist things just enough to keep you guessing!I am not sure I agree with the review that thought the end was tacked on, but it was a bit of a leap for our "hero" to so quickly grow a set.Remember, this is sex fantasy and this is Boswell writing; just sit back and enjoy the trip fantastic!
The story was exactly what the author told us it would be. The writing was good, as most of his stories are, but the ending seemed to be just tossed in without any development. The political jab with Frank, the antagonist, talking about making America great again, could have been left out. I don't read these books to read politics, left or right. I'm not into humiliation stories, but I do recognize good writing, and this was good writing. Leaving out the politics would get another star from me. Still, I am looking forward to the author's next book, and am hoping it will be out soon.
If you're a fan of this genre, you will know Ben Boswell and this is a book you'll definitely want. As others have stated, while the premise isn't new, Ben has a fantastic method of writing that separates him from most others. The sex scenes in this book were definitely some of his best ever. This one is a little darker that most of his other works, but personally, I liked it more. I especially loved the dialogue between Frank and Tia, Frank and Teddy, and Mia and Teddy throughout. I strongly recommend this one, you won't be disappointed.
I usually say beware a book where the author feels the need to explain himself in a foreword. But I get it. Someone looking for the gauzy hotwife variety or erotica is not going to like this. If you're looking for a hardcore cuckold book, or a "bully" book, as another review called it, then it's great. The plot's been told before, but that doesn't matter in erotica. It's HOW the author tells it, and Boswell is a very good writer in this genre. He doesn't pull punches and pretend it's anything deeper than it is, which is refreshing these days. This book reminded me a lot of those old 70s porn novels, but MUCH, MUCH better written. The dialogue crackles and the sex is incredibly dirty and hot.Boswell claims the characters aren't one dimensional in the foreward, and that's not exactly true. Except for suggested hidden depths in the wife, Mia, they are. But that's okay in this type of book. I agree with another reviewer about the ending. It feels tacked on, like the author was trying to please people looking for some kind of redemption for the couple, especially Teddy the husband. I'm not marking off for that. I'm just ignoring it. Ben Boswell is one of the best at a specific kind of dark fantasy and he (mostly) does it excellently in this book.
I judge “my bully†books differently than hotwife because, with certain exceptions, they follow a set story arch. Beautiful, innocent wife is married to a “beta†husband who intensely dislikes a guy who bullies him. Beta husband discovers that the bully has broken through his innocent wife’s defenses and has turned her into ... The important thing is in the details and how well the story is told. Boswell has written a hot and exciting bully book that follows the formula with an interesting twists. I recommend it.
I admit that I went in this wanting a little more. I felt that it needed something more and the ending was just way too rushed and almost felt cartoon like. I wanted things to go longer with neither the wife knowing or the bull figuring out anything. I think the tragic truth though like one reviewer has said that it lacked creativity and most who have read Boswell know that he's capable of a great deal more.I hope this author continues to write and find ways to make things more interesting in the future with conclusions that aren't so rushed or over the top.
Some of the same old. With just a little twist. Enough bull sex and cuckold angst. But read it too many times.too many other places. He is more creative than this.
"Possessing Princess" is interesting change of pace for Ben B....Ice princess wife transforms into slut/escort sealing sales contracts; uptight, straight shooting sales manager husband transforms into devious, manipulative boss winning vp of sales and corner office; and ugly but studly (he aggressively seduces the princess thereby kicking off the landslide of transformations), anything goes star salesman transforms into sales manager's Sancho Panza organizing sales team for record sales and boss's promotion. Seems to poke good natured fun at the hotwife genre...if one doesn't take it seriously it's an entertaining read.
