Do not buy this book. While many section might be helpful, the aviation section is full of inaccuracies. I am an instrument rated private pilot. Some examples are the attitude indicator. The book repeatedly refers to this as an altitude indicator. There is no such thing. They say it provides altitude information. This is incorrect, it provide attitude information. Another problem is the heading indicator. This is all messed up in the book. The heading indicator in the book has 12 listed twice. the second one is in the spot that 21 should be. I cannot believe someone would publish a book with so many obvious mistakes. This is an aviation test, and the publisher could not understand basic aviation principles.

It's a good study guide if you have a solid background in math and physics, and the practice tests are a great benefit. The only issue is that some of the explanations are too brief and in a few cases are actually incorrect on the physics. The tests at least contain correct answers, unlike other study guides. For my own credentials, I'm an engineer with almost a decade's experience in industry. I studied this to join the reserves. I bought multiple study guides, and this was the best I found.

: I definitely like the book - If I could improve the book I'd recommend more pictures as I'm more of a visual learner.

Spelling errors throughout the book and misnamed terminology. For example, instead of "Attitude Indicator" the book calls it an "Altitude Indicator." There is no such thing as an Altitude Indicator. There is however an Altimeter. Both are two separate flight instruments.There are questions on the online practice tests that are not covered in the book material. I had to research elsewhere to find the answers. I'm skeptical as to whether this book has produced positive results for SIFT TEST takers or not. Not one review prior to my purchase mentions test scores as other guide books have done. The other reviews also seem like paid reviews. For a test that you can only take twice in your lifetime, do yourself a solid and buy a different guide. Remember, if you pass the test the first time with a low score, you CANNOT retake the test.

Maybe add more example photos, so far seems to be covering all the bases of what the SIFT entails

I'm obsessed with this meal prep book. It's easy to read and follow with great recipes. My personal trainer said THIS is the book to get to keep your nutrition on track. I love the different plans for weight loss vs. building muscle. My only issue with the recipes is that sugar isn't accounted for in the nutritional facts of each recipe. So I've found myself figuring out the amount of sugar there is in each ingredient and serving size. Kind of annoying, but not the worst thing in the world. Other than that, this book is awesome! Frustrating & confusing! I have a son that just completed sixth grade. So I bought this book to use over the summer because of the good reviews & it’s just junk. boasts that there is online help so we signed up and got an account to watch the online videos that go with each lesson and it seems you have to upgrade in order to get any extra help on the website ... buyer beware!!! I’d never buy from this company again!

I got this book for my 6th grader to practice during the summer. There are two books in the set. This is the second book out of two, with a free response part. Great book with great sources. The book is divided into weekly and daily sections. It is perfect for planning and staying within a schedule. Clear presentation of the material allowed me to see the areas where we need to spend more time and refresh the material.

Thank you! One of my favorite publishers for math workbooks for students. I have many of their books and have been consistently pleased with the quality and number of resources they provide. The workbooks include more than enough practice problems for your child to work through during the school year and the book comes along with their online website access. To my knowledge, all of their workbooks come with video explanations on their website. Some instructor reviews question by question making this an essential workbook to have for all parents and teachers. As a parent who has used their books for my kids and continue to do so, I highly recommend this brand.

As a "Math teacher" , this book is awesome for practice for my students.Unfortunately, however, there is no explanation of math formula at all.So if you want to teach your kids without any deep knowledge of math, this book is not good for you.I strongly recommend this book to whom they have deep knowledge for math!!

This workbook has been a great resource for my child and allows a lot of practice for problems that he is learning in school. The workbooks have assessments which is helpful in understanding where your child is in terms of the curriculum. Their website comes with video explanations to problems in the workbook which has also been a very handy tool. High quality paper and overall would recommend to all parents.

I definitely recommend this book (Argo Brothers Math Workbook, Grade 6: Common Core Math Free Response, Daily Math Practice Grade 6, 2017 Edition) for regular math practice. As expected, the contents is well-organized and should help to improve math skills when used as prescribed (i.e. daily).

Love the books by ARGO brothers! This is our third book and looking forward to the next grade. Purchased the book for my daughter as an extra work during school time and carried over through the summer to keep her busy. Had many other books before the ARGO brothers as an extra work, however these ones look the best in how they have structured their work in the book and the helpfulness of the free online platform. The online videos are very helpful in explaining the answers when it was needed. Also the support team was very helpful when we had some difficulties on the online platform.

Great addition to our school material. Great for supplements and reinforcing what they have learned

This book is great! If you're interested in this book and any other similar books, I suggest getting Quadrivium by Wooden Books. I made the mistake of purchasing this book and 4 others by Wooden Books, as well as Quadrivium and they are all contained in Quadrivium. I repeat, Quadrivium is a compilation of 6 Wooden Books! Buy the compilation and save big $$$

I have about five of the books in the Wooden Books series, and this is one of my favorites. I really love sacred geometry, and this book is a very nice way to begin to understand the mathematics of music and the images sound creates. Like many of the Wooden Books, if you are already very well versed on the topic, this may not be up to your standards. However if like me, you want a concise overview, this is a great way to learn the basics of an interesting subject.

(I'm 14 writing this on my mom's account)This was not a topic I was especially interested in, but it was an informative book nonetheless. It was cool to learn about a tool that in a way makes music visual. The book also briefly touches on some simple music theory, as well as showing you how to make your own harmonograph. This wasn't the most exciting read, but still useful.

It's hard to believe such a small book can be packed with so much information, and inspiring beauty. I was making my very own Lissajous figures, and this book quickly became a reference guide.

If you're interested in music, math, and/or science but have a very short attention span and not much time on your hands this book is for you!Each page spread includes a short explanation accompanied by an illustration on the opposing page. Delightful and informative! A great book for the coffee table, or for short reads while on the toilet.

It was interesting reading and beautifully illustrated. Though it wasn't as dense as other books from this publisher. It is mostly about how to build and work with a 19th century drawing machine.

Gave this book as a Christmas gift to my son, and he likes it very much. Recommend this book to musicians and/or advanced music students. Fascinating!

My back ground is engineering, and my two sons a both excel in trumpet and saxophone so I wanted to create visual effects from sound. This book while focused on the "harmonograph" it still breaks down the structure of music. This is a great book for me to begin my studies in Cymatic. I use this as a mentor text to teach compare and contrast of the lives of two important leaders who collaborated for change.

Good story... for younger children.

I bought it as a gift for three darling Mexican American/Native American girls. The 8 year old read it as part of her reading assignment for school and loved it. I had the pleasure of spending a day with Dolores Huerta recently when she visited Humboldt State University. What a wonderful woman she is. I plan to order additional copies of this book very soon.

I am glad to see a story that acknowledges that Chávez did not work alone in this struggle, and that mentions not only the grape strike, but the immigration act of 1986 as well. However, this story gives a very brief account of Huerta and Chávez's amazing work. It is also historically inaccurate. It says in one page that the 2 asked people to protest dangerous pesticides by boycotting grapes, and that as a result, the farmworkers won a healthier work environment. The next page talks about the 340-mile march as a protest against low wages. But the march happened during, not after, the boycott, and the boycott and grape pickers' strike continued for years after the famous march from Delano to Sacramento, CA. ([...])

Growing up, my mother told us we had to boycott grapes. At that time, I only understood farmworkers were treated badly and Cesar Chavez was helping them. Years later, I’ve found a bilingual children’s book that would have helped me understand, not only the history of the farmworker movement, but who Cesar Chavez was and how he and Dolores Huerta worked together to inspire a national consciousness about the treatment of farmworkers. I love that this book introduces Dolores and Cesar as children and connects their early life experiences to the decisions they made as they grew up. I value the discussion of poverty, which the author introduces by explaining that Cesar’s family ended up working as migrant farmworkers after they lost their home. Given the shame and confusion children are apt to feel when their family faces eviction and/or loss of a home, the book offers an important perspective on family displacement by following Cesar throughout the loss, showing how it impacted his life as an activist for human dignity. It also does a good job of showing how a teacher, Dolores Huerta, became a social justice leader, adding a texture and dimension to those in the teaching profession that students might not otherwise get an opportunity to witness.The illustrations by Jose Cepeda really welcome readers into the story and younger children will be engaged visually. His illustrations are lively and are reminiscent of comic book characters.I learned several things about the early lives of Caesar and Dolores that enriched my understanding of them as people and about the farmworker movement, so while the book is focused on ages four to eight, I suspect adults will learn something new as well.Given that I longed for bilingual children’s books when my two sons were growing up, I only wish I had known about this book earlier. I applaud our local library for having a copy on display and bringing it to my attention.

About the Author

Robert Kreitner, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus of Management at Arizona State University. After a 26-year career at ASU, Dr. Kreitner was named to the W. P. Carey School of Business Faculty Hall of Fame. Dr. Kreitner was born in Buffalo, New York. After a four-year enlistment in the U.S. Coast Guard, he attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha and has received the Alumni Association's Scholar-Athlete Award. Dr. Kreitner received bachelors and master's degrees in business from UNO and a Ph.D. in business from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Before ASU, Dr. Kreitner taught at UNO, UNL, Western Illinois University, and Thunderbird as well as Micronesia, Albania, and Switzerland. Dr. Kreitner has authored or co-authored seven textbooks, including management and organizational behavior books that lead their fields and have been translated into Spanish, French, Italian, and Mandarin Chinese. A very good textbook to accompany the course. It reads easily as it flows nicely and is not overcrowded by unnecessary nonsense and/or fillers. I have now read the entire textbook and can say that it is one of the better formatted books that I have purchased in the last three years for college. Overall, the authors did a superb job in putting the text together.

Well, if you ever wondered where did we come from and how our evolution has been affected, reading this book will add even more questions, but also shed some light to these questions. You will wonder, who/why the Dogons have these "myths" (to me, the definition of the word "myth" is "history that wasn't written down because at the time there was not writting, but was kept alive from mouth to mouth") and celebrate the arrival of their ancestors. It will make you question HOW an African tribe knows and talks about Sirious. And even more important their knowledge of the hidden star SIRIUS B, knowledge preceding modern science! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did...

The mysterious knowledge of the Dogon tribe of Mali come to life in Scranton's work. How is it possible an ancient people knew of the Sirius star system long before modern tools/technology existed? Laird covers this mystery and many others in his page turning work.

While abed with that cough everyone had in February, I couldn't do much but watch Netflix and Hulu Plus, where I found a short but startling series called "The Pyramid Code." Now, I've always hated the Von Danikens and Ancient Aliens Guys because even if their conclusions should somehow happen to be true, they have no sense of what is and what isn't evidence, their arguments are invalid, and they can't make their predicates and subjects agree. Also, I've always felt with Zahi Hawass that to claim that extraterrestrial help was needed to build the Pyramids is to demean HUMAN intelligence. (After all, it was the Stone Age, not the Stupid Age.) But "The Pyramid Code" introduced me to geological, astronomical, mathematical, electrical, and linguistic arguments that were actually ARGUMENTS, and so fact-based they made the orthodox narrative look like fabrication. So, since I was too sick to walk to the library, I ordered this e-book and read it within a few hours, thus enjoying both an immediacy of gratification and a remarkable hypothesis which, true or not, is both entertaining and worth entertaining. I'd recommend it to anyone who prefers their spookiness backed up by facts, not by wild speculation. In fact, this particular hypothesis is always welcome at my gatherings, because he is not only entertaining, but also very civil when hanging out with hypotheses that contradict him.

Gave me a new perspective on our traditions and what we are capable of as a people!

I really enjoyed this book; and how it showed the correlations of many civilizations. I suggest anyone that is curious about the origin of the world;should not hesitate to read this book.

Well written but genuinly bad scholarship. Too bad! I heard great things about Martin and was expecting more from a guy with such a big platform to engage.I suspect those who are seeking affirmation for a compromose of Biblical Christianity and contemporary sexual narcissism will find this deeply satisfying.

I don't recall exactly what prompted me to buy this book for my kindle some time ago. I read partly into it and lost interest and set it aside. Perhaps it was fear or discomfort at confronting such a controversial topic. But then in October 2017 I attended the Christian Universalist Association's (CUA) 10 year anniversary celebration and conference in Dallas, Texas, and as I was flying there, in anticipation, I felt like I was on my way to heaven. And the conference exceeded those expectations for me in many ways. I met so many good people and made many friends, and there were many good speakers I can't name them all. The two founders of the CUA, Eric Stetson and Kalen Fristad both gave excellent talks. The LGBTQ issue came up in two ways that made a significant impression on me. During an overall discussion looking to the future of spreading the hopeful and loving message of Christian Universalism, I believe it was Rich Koster who made the comment that often it is churches where LGBTQ people are welcomed and accepted where Christian Universalist ideas are most likely to be accepted. And one of the two relatively short workshops that was offered was on a Biblical topic related to LGBTQ issues, which I chose to attend. It was led by Ordained Minister Jeremiah Gold-Hopton and it was very informative, and it led me to commit to myself that I would finish reading the book I had started, "Unclobber" by Colby Martin. So I went back and read from the beginning of the book to the end, and it has really made a significant impact on me. It is very scholarly. It is painful to read about the hardships that Colby and his family went through because of the stand he ended up taking which led to him being fired from his ministerial job. But in the book he presents his case clearly and persuasively that the original intended meanings of the relatively few passages in the Bible that are commonly used to "clobber" LGBTQ people today have been obscured by a combination of problems in translation, interpretation, and properly taking into account the tremendous differences in historical context between when these scriptures were written and where we are today in the modern world. It is very much analogous to the way that a relatively few passages of scripture and tradition have led a very large percentage of Christians to believe that God will torture a very large percentage of His creatures for time without end in a place commonly referred to as hell, because they did not meet certain requirements of belief and/or behavior before they died. It is extremist fundamentalist religious beliefs like these that have led many people to despair, mental illness, and some even to murder and/or suicide. And the preachers or religious leaders who claim to be 100% right about these extremist views are obviously not intellectually honest, because if they were, they would have to admit that as human beings they cannot possibly know for sure that they are right about these very extreme and harsh ideas and interpretations. Perhaps religious and even non-religious groups with extremist views should be required to have a Health Warning Label from a "Chaplain General" warning that imbibing the doctrines taught here may be hazardous to your health, physical, emotional, mental, and may even lead to death. I highly recommend this book UNCLOBBER by Colby Martin.

This book is a God sent - literally. As a transgender Christian I've always felt torn between my sexuality, gender, and religion. While not being raised in church my parents taught me conservative Christian views (east Texas bible belt), and I believed them dispite the fact that they never attended church. Imagine my surprise as a high school freshman when I found out I was attracted to women, and again as a high school senior when I found out I was a female to male transgender. I've always known these attributes weren't sinful in the eyes of God, and it's finally nice to see so many Christians believe the same way I do. I honestly never thought I'd find anyone who agreed with me.

This book is LONG overdue. Does it definitively prove that the Bible is in support of homosexuality? Of course not, but that is not its aim. What it does do is provide significant grey area around the verses that have been used for hundreds of years to justify the horrific treatment of the LGBTQ community by the church. This book should finally start a conversation that many in the church have been longing for, what should Christians believe about loving, monogamous, and healthy relationships between people of the same gender. Mixed in with the biblical analysis is a story that breaks your heart but eventually leaves a smile on your face. Everyone, no matter what you believe, should read this book with an open mind. My guess is that it will provoke more questions than it answers.

This book is extremely well written. Pastor Martin has definitely done his homework and makes the best case I have read about the so-called Clobber verses. He takes them apart one by one and places them within the framework of Christianity as it was when they were written. Any religion that professes unconditional love for everyone cannot exclude any person or group of people. Instead, they must embrace, nurture, love, and welcome anyone into their fellowship. He unearths the historical context behind the infamous ‘clobber passages’ in the bible revealing a whole new way to interpret the statements which have been used by so many Christians to hurt the LGBTQ+ community. This book is a great place to start if you’re looking for biblical backing to your hearts leaning towards inclusion and acceptance. He also fills the book with personal stories and real life experiences which make the book entertaining, although heart wrenching at times. Clear and concise explanations about the 'clobber' passages. If you are a devout Christian but a supporter of LGBTQ rights (as I am) this is the book to read along with Justin Lee's 'Torn ...' . I belong to the United Methodist Church which has the ongoing debate/schism regarding the LGBTQ issue and I am on the affirming side. These books helped me understand the issue theologically.

For Christians who feel that homophobia is un-Christ-like this is a great book that follows the authors' own journey to being convinced of this truth and his interpretation of those passages that appear to be anti-gay. Well-written and researched.
