We bought this on the recommendation of the folks at Wintergreen Dogsledding. We love the stories and the illustrations are fabulous. Great inspiration if you are thinking about taking a dogsledding vacation.3 years later: We still have this book handy in our living room, and refer to it regularly as our best reminder of our own dogsledding adventure with these folks.

This is a nice book.The pages are thick and it is very informative.

This book had a lot of information about sled dogs and puppies and the equipment that is used for mushing. Details dog and puppy care and contains beautiful illustrations as well as stories about actual sled dogs. Highly recommended!

Easy read and accessible information on this beloved tradition. The anecdotes add a touch to the nonfiction that makes for family reading in front of the fireplace.

This non-fiction book is used every year in my 4th grade class. It is a great addition to the Iditarod unit that I teach! It's loaded with artistic drawings and anecdotes. The kids love it! Highly recommend.
