Ilana Griffo is an illustrator with typographic tendencies. She has taught many craft and creative workshops, and as an adjunct professor. In 2011, Ilana launched a stationery line, Sugar & Type, which includes the Rule the World Planner, a weekly planner designed for creative go-getters. At just the right time, Ilana released this book into the world. It is simple, straightforward, and encouraging to make a dream into a reality. I appreciate the depth, for much of the content I didn’t even realize that I should consider! It covers everything from a vision board to legal stuff to time management. Ieven like the way the book feels and is bound! I couldn’t be more excited to get started!

I’m a motion graphics designer by day and a freelance artist/designer and small business owner by night. I’m taking to each page with a pen and a commitment to letting my first thoughts flow freely. It can be so hard to commit to ideas about ourselves and our businesses, especially when you’re writing in a beautiful book, but Mind Your Business has a sense of humor that takes some pressure off. This isn’t a rigid business plan— it’s a big collection of pages that encourage you to think and explore freely. As a perfectionist, I find that really exciting.If you’re the type to get stuck and bogged down by the details, and you need to refocus to push your business to the next level, I can’t recommend this enough.

I just started my own small business so I am so excited for this workbook! First, it’s gorgeous. The colors and layout are appealing, and there are motivational quotes (but not the cheesy kind)! Second, it’s so informative. Great strategies, tips and advice to develop my business and answer my questions. This book is an essential building block for turning my passion into a real business!

This book will be invaluable to anyone dreaming about, starting, or scaling up a creative business. The fill in portions included are honestly worth triple the price. I’ve spent bank on business workshops that didn't give as much value as this book. I know when you get it, you’re going to want to start filling it up like crazy, but really read and think about what the author is saying and put pen to paper in a thoughtful way to get the most out of this book. Buy this for your friend with the side hustle, she will thank you.

I love this book! Not only is it beautifully designed, it's a wealth of knowledge that I wish I had years ago when I was first starting my business. I am not new to owning my biz, but I'm still finding this book immensely helpful in bringing clarity to my vision of the future of my company. I highly recommend this to all the boss babes out there.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book when I purchased it. However, it’s better than I thought it would be. The content is easy to navigate, it’s interactive and it’s broken down in relatable concepts. Some of the sections are a bit redundant across the chapters (such as goals and where would you like your business to be over a period of time). But they’re concepts that should be in the back of any business owner’s mind anyway. One of the best parts about this workbook are the resource section in the back and it’s focus on mental health. Most importantly, the book doesn’t act as a “one size fits all”, it works with you.

Here’s the thing about this book. I bought it thinking it’ll help out a bit with my small business. I’ve been selling paintings online for a couple years and wanted to focus on growing my business and social media presence. I discovered Ilana on insta and thought this book would be a helpful tool in pursuing my business goals. Let me tell ya: This book has far exceeded my expectations in that it discusses basically EVERYTHING that I’ve ever had questions about. This includes taxes, pricing, brainstorming, workload, contracts, SEO, branding, and even mental health. It’s an incredible resource for definitions and further inspiration with your ongoing/future business. To anyone unsure if this would be a helpful book to them or not— it will!
